Dr Sarina Kempe

Dr Sarina Kempe is a compassionate and dedicated consultant rheumatologist based in Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia, with 10 years of experience practising rheumatology in both public and private settings. Born in Germany and educated in Malaysia, Dr Kempe is fluent in both English and Malay. She graduated from the University of Southampton, UK, in 2005 and gained experience working in Bath and Wales, UK, before relocating to Australia in 2009.

Sarina completed her basic physician training and specialised advanced training in Rheumatology at prestigious hospitals in Melbourne, such as The Alfred Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, and Box Hill Hospital, as well as Townsville Hospital, including remote Indigenous settlements in Queensland. She has also worked in private rheumatology clinics at Eastern Rheumatology and Peninsula Rheumatology in Melbourne, Australia.

In 2018, Sarina and her family moved to Malaysia, where she worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara in Kuala Lumpur for a year. Since December 2019, she has relocated to the Sunshine Coast, QLD, to join Coast Joint Care in Maroochydore.

Dr Sarina Kempe’s main goal is to empower patients through education regarding their chronic diseases and provide personalised, tailored management programs through shared decision making. She is open-minded, compassionate, and uses the best available scientific evidence to guide her treatment decisions, ensuring the highest quality of care for her patients.
